Making organic pigments (lac), organic inks, watercolors, acrylics and oil painting;

 

Pigments has been a part of human history even before farming began. Cave drawings in prehistoric times made with dyes & pigments. The first dyes and pigments were made out of plants and minerals. Ancient inks were also made from animal parts or excretions from squid and octopus.


How to make inks, paints and pigments using techniques and ingredients available to people throughout history.


In this workshop we will make pigments from plants & insect and create plant based palette. . With pigment we will produce organic inks suitable for drawing & calligraphy. We will talk about natural binders and make different paints from plants.


Happiness will come extraction of pigment from plants and welcoming alchemy of nature.
